Ruhnu Airfield

Situated nearly 75 km away from the Kuressaare on Ruhnu island, Ruhnu Airfield is one of the most important airfield in Estonia. It plays a very significant role in Estonia's aviation system. Ruhnu is an important city in Estonia. It is blessed with natural beauty and there are few historical monuments that reflects the countries past. This is the reason why Ruhnu hosts hundreds of tourists every year. Ruhnu Airfield caters to the needs of the large number of tourists in Estonia. It is possible to get cheap flights tickets from Ruhnu Airfield to other important airports in Russia.

The Ruhnu Airfield is owned by Mr. AS Kuressaare Lennujaam, the owner of Kuressaare Airport Ltd. Ruhnu Airfield is equipped with most of the modern equipments used in good airports. Some of the technical advantages available at the Ruhnu Airfield are as follows:

  • Radio equipments

  • NDB facility

  • Efficient meteorological services

  • The Ruhnu Airfield has a new terminal near the airfield. This has been constructed for the convenience of the passengers. The runway of the Ruhnu Airfield is 60 meters wide and 500 meters long. It is one of the non-paved airfields in Estonia and the runway is covered with grass. The unpaved runway makes the Ruhnu Airfield serve only smaller planes. Larger flights and cargo planes cannot land on the grass covered runways. The runway does not have landing light. This makes it impossible for the Ruhnu Airfield to operate after sunset in the dark.

Air Livonia has its base in Ruhnu Airfield. It has regular flights from Ruhnu Airfield to Kuressaare and Parnu. The Ruhnu Airfield is not recognized by the IATA airport code. However it has a ICAO airport code, which is EERU.

Ruhnu Airfield has its own personal website. You can get details about the flight timings, flight fares and air ticket availability by logging in to the Ruhnu Airfield website.
