One of the erstwhile republics in the Soviet Union, Estonia is a member of the European Union. With a history as old as more than 10,000 years this is a north European country. A parliamentary democracy, the country lies in the temperate climate zone and experiences a mild climate during most parts of the year. Though, Tallinn the national capital or other towns in the country are no match to London, Paris, Singapore or Hong Kong in terms of trade and sales, still shopping in Estonia is a pleasant and exciting experience that is certain to leave the shoppers with some really wonderful moments to cherish.

The capital of Estonia, Tallinn is a major destination for shoppers in Estonia. The city has plenty to offer for shopaholics, who can get all sorts of items from books, antiques, jewelry, liquor, hats, knitted wear, handicrafts, wood carvings, glass wear and linen items. The usual shopping hours are from 10 in the morning to 7 in the evening and people comfortable in bargain shopping can do shopping with the outdoor markets. Though there is a perceptible change in the behavior of shop owners and sales people in Estonia, yet in majority of the markets they are less than customer-friendly.

Some of the leading department stores and malls at Tallinn are as given:
