Muhu is one of the most famous Islands of the Baltic Sea. This island is known to cover an area of 196 square kilometers, and is also reputed for being the third largest of its kind in Estonia, the first two being Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. The island of Muhu is further sub-divided from the main portion of Estonia by the infamous Suur Vain Strait. Further, Muhu is separated from Saaremma by the reputed Vaike Van Straits.
